For Börger GmbH Everything Went According to Plan in 2016

28.03.2017

With an increase in order intake, continued international growth, an improved organizational structure as well as ten new jobs created, Börger GmbH is satisfied, looking back at a successful business year 2016.

Anne Börger-Olthoff, managing director of Börger GmbH from Weseke is very content with the financial year 2016: “For us, everything went according to plan. We were able to expand our international business and have developed in terms of organization.” The family enterprise from Weseke in Germany sells its rotary lobe pumps, macerating units, separation technology, liquid feeding technology, stainless steel tanks and agitator technology in more than 60 countries worldwide. The support of Börger’s customers on all continents is provided by many foreign subsidiaries and a global network of representatives.

Börger products are used throughout almost all industry sectors, but agriculture as well remains an important market for the family-run company. “The last two years have been difficult for German farmers. This has affected us as well. Thanks to the variety of sales markets of our rotary lobe pumps, however, we were able to offset this effect and even increase our order intake by almost 10 percent.” Anne Börger-Olthoff is satisfied with the turnover as well which amounted to around EUR 61 million for the Börger Group in 2016.

New organizational structure

Börger has adapted its organizational structure to the strong growth of the recent years and created three business divisions – the Technical, Sales and Financial departments. Each division is headed by its own manager. Anne Börger-Olthoff: “With Roger Trepmann (Financial department), Jörg Gertz (Sales department) and Hubert Schulte Eistrup (Technical department) we have three experienced division managers who have a close eye on the processes in their departments. Thanks to continuous optimization, we have been realizing an even higher productivity. The development of customized solutions is promoted holistically as well.” In addition, the understanding of other departments has been improved by the intensive cooperation.

Successful products

With regard to Börger products, everything went according to plan, too. The ONIXline high-tech industrial pump introduced in 2015 could further establish itself in the market and Börger separation technology has become the technical market leader. At the “Eurotier” trade fair in Hanover, Germany, Börger presented  its new feeding technology “Powerfeed twin” to the professional visitors from agriculture and the renewable energy industry for the first time. Anne Börger-Olthoff is very pleased about the entirely positive feedback from the biogas sector: “These successes were only made possible thanks to our qualified and committed staff as well as the organizational structure that has been improved continuously. We are proud that many of our former apprentices have now become linchpins of our company,” says Anne Börger-Olthoff. The company offers vocational training for seven different professions. Last year, following the corporate philosophy, all apprentices were taken on after training. In addition, the company created ten new jobs and has planned further vacancies for 2017.
