Record Sales in 2017

07.02.2018

Last year, Börger Group was able to increase sales by 17 per cent compared to 2016. With a turnover of EUR 70 million we achieved the best result in our company’s 43-year history. The main reason for this strong growth, according to our managing director, Anne Börger-Olthoff, is the product initiative of the past years: “We have launched lots of new products that were accepted by the market very well. Each product is manufactured using a modular principle, so that it can be configured perfectly for each specific application.” This way, the ONIXline HiTec pump presented in 2015 has been established in the chemical industry as well as in the oil and gas sector. The new BLUEline XL pump also has a broad range of application. Apart from its use on numerous THW mobile units, the pump is used, for example, for waste water treatment in New York or on fish farms in Peru.

The Börger products for the agricultural sector and alternative energies are very popular as well. Börger-Olthoff: “At 2017 Agritechnica (the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural technology) in Hanover, interest in our separation technology was incredibly strong. We received so many orders that we had difficulties keeping up with the production.

All Börger products are manufactured in Weseke. This is meant to stay this way. Space for expansion of the plant is available. In addition to the existing reserve area we were able to secure the adjacent property with a size of 12,000 m². Weseke Dragees GmbH currently producing at this site is building a new factory in Weseke and is expected to move in 2020. “We are happy to have enough space in Weseke for the future expansion of our company. Thanks to the outstanding suppliers and our highly qualified employees we have optimal production conditions in Weseke,” explains Börger-Olthoff.

To be prepared for future growth with regard to personnel as well, Börger invests a lot in training and further training of its employees. “We offer a wide range of vocational trainings in eight different professions. It is important to us to prepare our apprentices in the best possible way for the varied tasks following their training in our company.” Thanks to diverse cooperation with secondary schools and numerous internship options we would like to stay in contact with young talents.

Börger has ambitious goals for 2018. We plan to further increase manufacturing productivity by process optimization, develop local suppliers and create a large number of new jobs to be capable of processing the ever increasing number of incoming orders.
