Examples of use
Mobile vat filling station
Mobile vat filling station
A liquid manure organization was searching for a mobile vat filling station. Their priority was to have a mobile pump with chopper unit, as the medium often contained solids which could lead to blockages in the spreading device at a later stage when spraying the liquid manure. They also wanted to have a compact model.
The organization decided on a vat filling station from Börger. Besides the high performance rotary lobe pump and the efficient Börger Rotorrake, the customer was also extremely impressed with the service Börger offered. The customized unit was completely supplied by Börger GmbH according to all th erequirements of the customer.
The pump is operated via the PTO of a tractor. A low maintenance chain drive operates the Rotorrake via the second shaft of the rotary lobe pump. A slip clutch ensures maximum safety. The boom system installed above for filling the vats can be adjusted using the tractor hydraulics. This boom can be rotated manually up to 360°. The liquid manure organization is now highly satisfied with their customized filling station.

Liquid manure spreader
Liquid manure spreader
A contractor was looking for a pump and chopper for a new liquid manure tanker vehicle. The contractor wanted to use the tanker for collecting liquid manure at his customers to then spread on crops or deliver to biogas plants. The pump was needed for filling the tanker and for the subsequent spreading with a distribution system. To prevent any blockages from large solids in the distribution system, the contractor also wanted to install a solids chopper in front of the pump.
He opted for a Boerger EL 1550 and a Boerger Rotorrake 9000. The compact, space-saving design of the Boerger machines stood out for the customer as well as the high quality and subsequent long service life of Boerger products. The contractor's main priority was to reduce the downtime of the tanker vehicle.
The customer is now extremely satisfied with the Boerger pump and Rotorrake combination. Thanks to the outstanding output of the Boerger pump, the long service life and the ease of maintenance due to the Boerger design, the productivity of the liquid manure tanker vehicle has significantly increased compared to the previous pump and chopping technology supplied by another manufacturer.

Membrane filtration
Membrane filtration
Membrane filtration is a procedure which utilizes the physical barriers, such as water-permeable membranes, to separate particles from the water to be cleaned. A water treatment plant in Beijing uses 14 Boerger Rotary Lobe Pumps in its membrane filtration system. The pumps achieve a total output of up to 10,000 m³/h. The pumps extract the water to be purified through the membranes. The membranes have tiny pores through which the water permeates. Solids, bacteria etc. are retained by the membranes and therefore separated from the water to be purified.
Cleaning the membranes includes techniques such as periodical back flushing with filtered water. This made it essential for the operator of the plant to have pumps that could also be operated in reverse. They also had to have a high suction capacity. As the filtration operation needed different quantities to be pumped than in the back flushing phase. The speed of the Boerger Rotary Lobe Pumps is regulated by a frequency converter.
The Boerger Rotary Lobe Pumps are extremely stable and practically wear-resistant. However, in the event of wear, the low maintenance design of the pump (MIP = Maintenance in Place) enables pump maintenance to be performed by the customer's in-house personnel in a very short time. This keeps downtime and maintenance costs to a minimum.
