Lists of materials available for Boerger Rotary Lobe Pumps

The timing gear of a Boerger Rotary Lobe Pump is protected as it is safely separated from the pump chamber by the intermediate chamber with quench.
The high-strength shafts do not come into contact with the pumped medium in Boerger pumps.
The variety of material allows optimum adjustment to individual needs.

  • Cast iron with spheroidal graphite, resistant to wear and corrosion
  • Specially hardened spheroidal graphite cast iron
  • Stainless steel with high resistance to acid
  • High-strength steel, resistant to wear
  • Acid resistant stainless steel
  • Silicon carbide
  • Elastomer-coated rotors or rotor seals made of:
    • SBR, resistant to abrasion and aging
    • NBR, versatile use, resistant to oil
    • EPDM, very versatile for chemicals
    • FPM, high resistance to oil and chemicals
    • Specific materials for special cases
  • Rotors made of PTFE, for extreme chemical and temperature stress
  • Rotors made of solid steel or stainless steel for pumping special media
  • Various basic rotor parts made of stainless steel, spheroidal cast iron and special materials
  • Mechanical seals for abrasive and corrosive loads, made of:
    • Single piece with secondary seals made of any standard elastomer
    • SiSiC (silicon carbide) with secondary seals made of any standard elastomer
    • Wolfram carbide with secondary seals made of any standard elastomer
  • Specific shaft seals for special cases
    • Examples: Packing with optional lantern ring
    • Multi-seal gaskets made of elastomer and/or plastic
