Comprehensive energy concept
A 1.1 megawatts photovoltaic system (PV system) is installed on the roofs of the production halls. With the photovoltaic system and our combined heat and power unit (CHP), we generate 75 % of our electricity requirement ourselves.
In the summer months, the PV system produces more electricity than we need. The surplus electricity goes into the public grid and is offered as regional electricity. In total, we produce so much electricity per year that 330 four-person households could get by with it for a year. Thus we save 551,728 kg of CO2 emissions per year.
The heat of the CHP is used to heat our halls and office buildings. The power unit operates 24/7. With the help of buffer tanks, we use the heat when it is needed.
Environmentally conscious action
Acting in an environmentally conscious and resource-conserving manner is important to us. We use electric vehicles and forklifts that are charged with our self-produced electricity.
We use materials and raw materials carefully in the manufacturing of our products and recycle excess material.
Sustainable supply chains: Many of our suppliers come from our immediate environment. This reduces transport emissions and we can be sure that production is socially responsible and sustainable.
Durable products
Börger products are of a high quality. They are designed and manufactured for an extremely long service life.
Thanks to the innovative MIP® ("Maintenance in Place") design of our products, the system operators can replace the wear parts themselves. There is no need to call a service technician.
Thanks to the easy replacement of wear parts, our products can be used for many years - very sustainably and at low life-cycle costs.
Satisfied employees
Satisfied employees form the foundation of every successful company. The same goes for us.
It is important to us that our employees are healthy and satisfied with their work-life balance. To achieve this goal, we offer flexible work schedules, ergonomic workstations, free fresh fruit and water, and an onsite cafeteria. We also offer a subsidy for the purchase of a bicycle.
We want our employees to be able to evolve. To this end, we created the Börger Academy. The Academy offers our employees various further training opportunities. With vocational training in nine professions, we offer young people a large variety of options to start their working lives.
