Rotary Lobe Pumps

Submerged and semi-submerged pumps

The compact design, chemical resistance and ability to pump highly viscous media without problems are the reasons why the Börger rotary lobe pump is an ideal submerged or semi-submerged pump.

Powerful and versatile

Submerged pumps are required again and again. Submerged and semi-submerged pumps are used if dry installation is not possible due to the NPSH value of the plant.

A mobile or stationary pump which is submerged into the fluid to be pumped is called a submerged or semi-submerged pump.

The components of a submerged pump

Pump and drive are submerged into the medium.

These rods serve the lowering and pulling up of the pump.

This conveys the medium upwards.

The flange is locked in place. The pump is lowered and inserted into the lock flange. No screw connections needed.

The components of a semi-submerged pump

The drive of the semi-submerged pump is installed outside the medium to be pumped.

The dome cover separates the tank from its surroundings.

The coupling is enclosed by the coupling guard tube (long shaft connection).

This conveys the medium upwards.

There is one extension pipe leading to the intermediate chamber and one to the gear unit. This way, the fill level can be checked easily.

Benefits

Variable and versatile

Resistant to solids

Durable if pumped medium contains large amounts of sand.

For highly viscous media

Even highly viscous media can be conveyed with little effort.

Installation length of more than 14 m

Börger semi-submerged pumps can be built with a coupling length of 14 m and more.

Resistant to chemicals

Even chemically aggressive media can be conveyed without any problems.

Gentle pumping

Shear-sensitive media are pumped gently.

Compact and powerful

Despite their compact size, the pumps are very powerful.

Customized

Each pump is configured and built individually.

ATEX-compliant

An ATEX-compliant pump design is available for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
